Dragon Says...

I have the pleasure of knowing the most delightful gentlemen. Things have been rather rough on me of late, such details of which are unimportant. I'd been really very down, although Gideon made a very determined effort to cheer me up by luring me to his house with sangria and watching with me a delightful movie in which horrific Nazi zombies (who managed to keep their uniforms crisp despite sixty years of personal decomposition) terrorized some innocent Norwegian teenagers.

Good times were had at the game last night, was awesome finally getting to go to that arena. And best of all, they won :D

So I ended up going with my sister and 2 friends from college days. They were running a deal with 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 sodas for $149 which was quite fair. Seats were up in the mezzanine but the view was quite good as you can see from the pictures I took ^_^

We actually got there a little late, I blame that on my sister because she couldn't get out of work any earlier :p But we took train to newark, newark light rail to penn station, and then walked a couple blocks to the arena. We missed a good chunk of the first period by the time we got to our seats and the Islanders were already up 1-0 D:

We went to get our free foods during the first intermission but of course everyone else did as well. So we missed a bit of the second period as well and the first Devils goal, lol. Thankfully we did get to see the 2nd Devils goal and properly celebrate it and that's what the game ended up bein, 2-1 Devils :)

After the game I wanted to stop at a coffee place I had heard about as they give cafe mochas for 50% of if you have a ticket stub from the game. I went there with my sister while my two friends went for more food. Apparently we went towards the wrong direction of Newark cause there were some uhh, interesting folk near the pizza place they went to :p They ate as fast as they could and then we scurried away back to the train station >.>; Ended up getting home a bit past midnight, was good fun though, gotta do it again :)

Another thought today... ya know when you have problems with 'friends' and there's usually two outcomes of said problem. 1) you make amends or 2) you end up taking your losses/gains and ending it

well, lots of 'friendships' I've had pretty much end up in the 2 category... yet noticing not one have I of had anything to gain.

Now if I need to be less vague... I mean all these friends tried pretending I did shit to piss them off, yet it was me who actually did something. Whether it was help out with money, do art, or help them with some physical service (transportation etc.) I don't remember ending a friendship where I actually had something to say I gained anything from ending it. I guess that's probably why a lot of people are happy to end it, they all ready got something.

I'm goin! First time I'll be seeing the new arena in beautiful downtown Newark XD But nah, apparently the area around the arena has really seen a big turn around and everyone says the arena itself is really beautiful so I can't wait, so psyched!

FFXII’s faults.
1- characters. None of the characters were very likeable (somewhat in aesthetics maybe) and weren’t well developed. Only Larsa really had any shred of human emotion asides being a complete bot of a character. The sad thing is he’s not even a playable character. It was also apparent that Penelo and Vaahn were characters created in the last month cause they had no reason or place in the storyline AT ALL. (even the creators admit to this. The game originally only had 4 characters) Going more i ndepth
Fran- a vierra. The game's sex appeal lulz. Her voice actor fails at any emotion when it's even needed. When she's in pain it sounds more like she's faking a really bad orgasm. Fran's storyline is bland in it as well. She's there because she fell in love with Balthier. That's it. And for her leaving her city, she's considerred a branded outsider for no other good reason other than she's seen other lands. woopdeedoo
Baltheir- the only good voice actor in the game. He's a sky pirate so the only convenience of this is that he can fly airships. Cause hitting O to go forward and using a + pad is too hard for anyone else, aye ;). His motive is the only realistic one too. Take treasure and sell it. No heroism there, just greed.
Ashe- The bitchy princess. Actually she's just a bitchy Yuna. That's it exactly. Thinks she's better than everyone else, is only fighting because her castle's destroyed and she needs to save her people and for some reason she's special for being able to grab this sword yet is a huge cunt. Okay, that sounds better of a plotline than it really is. It's how they executed it through the game that killed Ashe
Baush- The veteran. That's it. He was framed, now he's fighting for you. I also believe he's fucked Ashe after all the events of the game take place.
Penelo- okay, if you're going to bastardize an all ready bad name, just go with it. Penelope. She was a last minute character that the creators admit to. Her storlyline is she's an orphan (big surprised. Cliche dumbasses) who's a rogue/thief! (this game has 2! it has that in common with FF 9's zidane/amarant thief combo.) She's just around to be around. She doesn't interact or give any advice or anything. She knows nothing, she is nothing
Vaahn- the fagtastic fagbagofaggotry of the game. it's like they thought Tidus wasn't a pathetically girly boy as it was so they had to out do him. so make a boobless girl that always smiles and idolizes anyone taller than him or has hit puberty. He really doesn't do anything asides the fact you're actually forced to use him as a main character. That's weird, a main character that doesn't DO anything. Hell even the other characters don't note him very much. The only times they do were for the quick writeovers. "You're a thief? I can't talk to you" "if you want to make it out alive, you gotta help us." "...the mist" "I didn't kill your brother. It was my twin." "TOUCH MY PRETEENCLITORIS" is all that's ever said to him.... except that last one.
2- story. The story is fairly bland. It basically stole FF: tactic’s storyline of war and conquer strategy except it added the going to find the great sword thingy that only Ashe can get blah blah, storyline with plot holes that could sink the titanic in it's asshatery and creatures that are all powerful that are trying to use you (wtf did this mythology just shoot out the creator’s ass last second like FF IX’s Necron?) and then that’s the reason any other character is as evil or as powerful as they’re made is from these…things that are apparently evil to you anyways yet you don’t kill them or do anything, you just go “pshh, bitch whatever! I’m gonna do mae own tang!” and it had the worst progression scenes. When Vaahn kept spamming “I am sir Basch!” was stupid and pointless. I also laughed at its attempt at evoking sympathy in the holy temple. “Help! My mom was pushed!” “Oh no, my mom died!” …seriously because she was pushed… wtf. The overall mythology of the game was thrown together. It was sort of like every religion was right in there own sense (hear that christians and muslims? you’re BOTH right!) The last problem was that the game was anticlimactic and the dialogue failed. When Reddas sacrifices himself, I felt like vaahn was being sarcastic “No! don’t go!” but the tone made it seem like he was thinking. “Yeah, save us, we don’t like you!”. When the end of the game came I thought I was in another cutscene. The final boss was a joke and the build up sucked. I mean, let's take another game. FF VI. The mythology was solid. Espers and humans. Espers came through the esper world at 3 different times in history. One during the war of the magi, once again as a quest to seal the gate completely left a group of espers outside and then the third is when they all escape to take vengeance. Each period has it's own effects on the story and there isn't anything that deviates from it. Once you die you go to the phantom train to go to the afterlife. While this was explained only once, it was NEVER contradicted. FFXII had contradictions to every 'truth of lore'.

3. gameplay- it’s only likeable factor was the no random battles idea. If it actually had better battles and character individuality it’d make it a bit more enjoyable. There was absolutely no difference in any character whatsoever so it sort of killed the usual RPG of saying ‘which is the overpowered/best character’ cause they’re all as equally useless. This game also killed the idea of limit breaks and summons. Not one Summons stick to tradition and even then they’re worthless to use. Loss of mp= fail. Limit breaks had the same flaw. (oh sorry, awakening) You lose all your mana. Sure, you COULD do the most damage with a properly chained limit break but if you didn’t kill the enemy with it, you had to hope you had enough time to use all those ethers to be able to heal enough for a few of the tougher fights. Still the lack of individuality in limit breaks hurt the game. but to be fair there is 2 characters that really have any individuality. PEnelo and Balthier. Penelo has the most mp, best for casting because you can get more mana to start casting with. Baltheir has the least amount of mp which means it's easier for him to fill up those fractions to be able to pull off summons or limit breaks. but that's a MARGINAL difference.

4. Sidequests. Sidequests were for the most part stupid. Some of them were even restricted by choices you made at the very beginning of the game! Seriously, you open the first chest available and no chance at the zodiac spear. FFIX had the same problem where if you didn’t do everything you needed before the lifa tree incident you lost the chance to get a lot of items. but from the BEGINNING of the game? Whoever thought that would be a good idea in an rpg needs to be taken out of video game creation forever :/ And all side quests are the same from when I stopped. Get a request to kill something, find where it lives. No storyline behind any of em, just a hunt. Not something like "bahamut resides at the broken factory to test the strength of those who venture out this way... but what's this? This place... people were killed and had to run away from a terrible evil! what evil is this? AAAAAH it's a CAterpillar!" ... okay so it was ultima weapon. Still applies. The sidequests had no storyline relevance. FFVII had a few sidequests that played a huge part in the storyline. Anything with Yuffie and Vincent particularly! You wouldn't know a lot about Shinra's extent of militant reach without them. Just things like that. While I'm not going to say FF XII's sidequest hunts were horrible, there was just a lack of substance to them.

Well, I've decided to do reviews of things since I'm really bored. So I watched cheaper by the dozen the other day and I had some thoughts

movie was good over all... decent storyline, SOME good actors and that home is where the heart is feel sorta shit.

the problems
1) steve martin's acting is abnoxious. All the little jokes and faces he tries to make at the kids is just really dumb and wasn't funny. "This is acting school, act sarcastically crazy regardless of the situation!" err..yeah.

2) the dialogue failed in some parts

"Charlie hates school but YOU wouldn't know that because you're never around!" Okay,charlie is in high school. A senior I think. Parents usually don't stay around for every second of the day to babysit a senior and make sure that their diapers are changed. Next thing. OF COURSE HE HATES SCHOOL. It's just what MOST kids do. (except I liked school) and then the lame supposed realization moment where the dad is supposed to go "Oh my god! Really? I've been such an ASS for WORKING!" ...really?

and that's my quick review of it.

Today was interview #3, and I've already been selected for the second round of interviews. Me, out of 9 in a group "interview". Yesterday's interview went well also; contract call center support, but half the stress of the last one, plus I've had experience with their support software, as well as the software they support. Next week they do the background checks, and the following is the start of the hiring.

First, three interviews out of the blue, now two of them showing very good promise of me getting employed.

All in all, it has turned in to a pissing match with you, like it does with everything. You're a poorly educated person with some charisma. I was being a nice guy, and I put blazger s car in my name, well he and his mate got their life in order. I asked them a simple request, and that was to only use the car with the intention of only going to work, no where else, as having their car in my name, was a huge liability to me, but I figured I could trust them, that is not the case.

I found out they were taking advantage of me, fully and completely, using it to go all over the place on their little furry expeditions, when I explicitly asked them not too.

Then the real kick in the nut's comes last night, I read his LJ and his FA, and he has an Ad up for "Tiger Taxi", featuring blaze, driving my car, to pick up his pals at the air port for MFF. I called him up, and him, in his typical, selfish, highly self centered nature, throws a little temper tantrum, like the immature fucking loser he is.

Next day:
I realize they will only keep using it, I write up a bill of sale, and sign off on the title, drive over there with my father, remove the plates, have everything signed off on, fine and dandy! My legal oblagation is over. I go on my way, then I get home.

I don't know how, but this week, I've managed to catch THREE interviews!

Unfortunately, only two of them show promise. I had one yesterday morning, which turned out to be a hiring agency hiring for the company I left. Seems I only got the interview because the call center manager approved for the agency to interview me. Manipulative mother fuckers just don't understand "no". I left them, and turned them down when they contacted me trying to rehire me, and I've said no to them again. What the fuck does it take for them to get the fucking message?

Tomorrow, and the next day are my other two interviews. Wish me luck. (I know I'm wishing for some luck here.)

So this week I knew was going to be hectic with getting settled into the house and doing repairs and upgrades and all that (My bedroom door is currently a shower curtain).

Just to make sure all that gets more complicated, SEPTA decided to strike today! Had to take off work today because I didn't have time to plan how to get to/from work. The Mayor made it seem like everything was hunky-dory, and there was no threat of a strike... so I didn't make plans and now I'm stuck at home.

At least that gives me time to start help unpack boxes and do laundry and that sort of thing =\

Fuck TWU Local 234.

So this Halloween we had a huge gathering of fursuiters to go and invade the city! Haku, Whiskey, Nevaro, Razzle Dazzle (Zen), Growly, Bucker, and myself all invaded Santa Monica! It was so much fun! We all kept getting crowded, wanting pictures every 5 seconds! So many people were excited to see our suits, it was amazing!

But it gets better! After that, we drove down to West Hollywood to join the other 500,000 people in their annual street party! It was so pack and again, every five seconds we were asked to take pictures! Perez Hilton was there too and we were dragged on camera and asked some bad things but no one played into it so I think we all did well!

We eventually went different ways, Whiskey and Bucker stayed in WeHo to find Bucker's cousin and Nev, Growly, Zen and myself left to go to a club that was allowing fursuits inside!

At around 2 am we all went to Denny's with a huge group from the club that was friends with Zen and ate dinner before crashing at the motel that Growly had reserved for us so that we could rest.

Overall, my Halloween was amazing and I enjoyed every second of it! Thanks for everyone making this year awesome!
